Just a quick post tonight as I wait for the little ladies bottles to warm up. They are doing well, and everyone is eating better today, even our LaMancha/Saanen cross (name still TBD)! She finally latched onto the bottle this afternoon. I spoke with the breeder today and he suggested some Pepto Bismol, which really seemed to help settle her stomach and get her to think about eating food. She was apparently very reluctant to stop nursing on her mother, so getting used to the bottle is a bit of a challenge for her (and us!) but we have made definite progress.
The little Tauntaun girl was being quite the clown this morning, jumping, skipping, and just generally being quite playful – I wish I had been able to capture it on video! I’m sure there will be plenty of more opportunities for that, though. Little Heidi is doing great, and I even took her for a walk on the leash today, which she took to surprisingly well! Loki joined us for our jaunt and she seems to enjoy his company, and vice versa. It was gorgeous out today, about 60 degrees Fahrenheit – just delightful!
The chickens are doing well, and I have some more photos of them to post, which I plan to do tomorrow. We have quite a few roosters from the looks of things, but other than the occasional chest-thumpery, there isn’t much aggression, at least none that I have witnessed!
I’m enjoying some ginger tea while the bottles warm, trying to nurse along some nausea. I suspect that it is due to my sinuses draining; surgery to correct my issues there takes place a week from tomorrow, and I am hoping for it to eliminate many of the health issues I’ve endured over the past several years!
Time to go feed the girls. I leave you with goat baby nuzzles from the cousins:
