What the Hail?

We just had a brief hailstorm which has subsequently turned into snow. There was just a sudden onslaught of lentil-sized hail falling. It took me by surprise. The ducks, too. This is their first time experiencing such a thing. They did seem to take it in stride at first.

The ducks seemed bewildered

But then the hail started to really pound the ground!

And the ducks started running toward the safety of their enclosure and house. By the way, running ducks? One of the most hilarious things you’ll see.

The hail fell for just under 10 minutes, by my estimate, and then it turned to flurries, and now, the skies are clear again. I checked on everyone and nobody seems worse for wear. Of course, this has reminded me that winter and its snow are not far off. Autumn never seems to last long enough, does it?
