Our goats have some favorite things. As I’ve mentioned previously, Heidi, in particular, likes to be cuddly-close to us. Sometimes, Gidget and MaryAnn are also fans of pets and cuddles, too, but they are less prone to cooperating for a photo, which is why you see Heidi more often.
They are also fans of certain shrubs:
Probably their ultimate snack (besides animal crackers), though, are Maple leaves. I had to trim some of our trees a week or so ago, and let the leaves on the branches dry out. The girls received them as a treat and nommed away happily! Don’t mind their pile of climbing junk in the background; we are still working on building them a more elaborate playscape.
And finally, today, while sitting down in the grasses next to where the girls were browsing, I discovered that Heidi is quite possibly as fond of my solar-powered cooling fan hat as I am.
I am delighted and awed by these capricious creatures every day. I’m so grateful to have them as a part of my life.
