What Are You Up To Today?

So, what’s happening in your neck of the woods this Tuesday? Hopefully, you are doing well and having a productive, enjoyable day.

In case you’re wondering what I’m busy with this afternoon, I’m making homemade goat’s milk yogurt for the first time, using our crockpot. I am following the recipe/instructions from The Simple Dollar, which I’ve been finding really helpful in terms of suggestions for folks on a budget. I’m also braving the Plateau of Terror piles of laundry that plague our hallway, right outside of our office, and getting those washed, dried, and put away. I’ve done some freelance writing work and am waiting for a client to respond with some further information so that I can continue on their project. And I need to make cheese this afternoon. So all told, I’m feeling pretty darn productive.

I decided that I deserved a break from the computer, and proceeded down to the coop and barn, where I gathered today’s eggs so far, checked on water and food levels for everyone, and took the adult goats for a walk. They were thrilled and were chowing down on all of the green stuff that’s growing everywhere, thanks to a copious amount of rain of late. I keep needing to remind myself that I only need to account for six adults now, not seven. Hopefully Gheb is doing great in his new home. 🙂

We’re looking at placing an ad in the local papers advertising computer service & repair. Just what we need to be doing in our “spare” time, right? But times are tight, and we do what we must. It’s debatable how much business we’d actually get from such an ad, so I’m not entirely settled on the concept just yet. Where do you look for those types of services when you need them? How would you locate a qualified tech who you would hire, assuming that is not something you take care of yourself? We’d love to know. Perhaps we should be putting our resources into another venue for advertising. I’ve already put up an ad on craigslist in the “Services” section under “Computers,” so we are set in that arena. Any good suggestions in this regard would be appreciated!

Well, the yogurt timer is about to go off, and I’ll need to tend to it once it does, so I’ll wrap things up here. Hope the remainder of your day brings you a smile!
